Just got back from the BMAC show in Philly and it went really really well! I'm going to be busier than ever filling orders now while getting ready to do the Plaza art fair at the same time-but it's a good busy.
Here's some snaps of the city, my booth at the show, a lovely boat that we had a party on one night, and some of the wonderful people I met at the show. They're eating breakfast at the Reading Street Market-what a cool place that is!
Your booth looks amazing and the photos of Philli look very nice. Never been there myself. Congrats on the accomplishment of doing such a big name show and for all of the orders it sounds like you will be getting!
So happy to see that you are going to be at the Plaza! I will have an opportunity to meet you, as we go up every year to visit my son and daughter in law and see the show! Looking forward to that....hugs, Linda
I started making these birdcages and other wire pieces when I realized I love the look of an abandoned circus or carnival but I also like the look of nature reclaiming some of these abandoned places and giving them new life.
Traveling with my family to England this summer, we went to the seaside town of Brighton where they have a dilapidated pier that was destroyed in a fire. It looks like a giant wire birdcage, and in fact it is because many birds have made it their home so it has a second life as a bird sanctuary. Seeing that old pier and the carnival on the nearby "new" pier(at least 30 years old) was even more of an inspiration to create this artwork. I hope you enjoy it!
